CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - JetBlue will start flying non stop service from Charleston International Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Florida beginning Nov. 19.
It currently flies nonstop out of Charleston to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, Boston's Logan International Airport, and Washington's Reagan National Airport.
"We are proud that our airline partnership with JetBlue is resulting in a new destination connecting the Lowcountry with Ft. Lauderdale," said Paul Campbell, executive director and chief executive officer of the Charleston County Aviation Authority. "Our customers will be able to enjoy the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area and we can bring those folks to our great city."
JetBlue came to Charleston in February of 2013, Charleston County Aviation Authority spokesperson Charlene Gunnells said.
The addition of nonstop service between Charleston and Fort Lauderdale brings the destinations out of Charleston International Airport to 24 airports in 19 cities across the U.S. and Canada, she said.
