MCCLELLANVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County deputies are asking for the public's help to find a Mount Pleasant man whose car was found abandoned in McClellanville more than three weeks ago.
Deputies say the car, which was discovered in the area of Steed Creek Road and Whilden Road, is registered to 36-year-old Jason Haynie.
Haynie has not reported to work in a week and has not been seen, according to Charleston County Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson. His family and friends are worried about his well-being and safety, Watson said.
Deputies searched in the area of Steed Creek Road and Whilden Road near the Francis Marion Forest with the aviation, K9 and search and rescue units after Haynie's vehicle was found but did not find any sign of him. Authorities do not suspect foul play in Haynie's disappearance based on initial information provided to investigators, Watson said.
Haynie is a white male, 6'03" tall, weighs 205 lbs., and has short dark hair.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Haynie should call Charleston County Consolidated dispatch at (843) 743-7200 or the Charleston County Sheriff's Office at (843) 202-1700.
