CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Severe thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday afternoon and into the night.
Some of those storms may contain damaging wind gusts and large hail. Lightning may also pose a danger, according to Live 5 Meteorologist Justin Lock.
The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Charleston, Beaufort and Colleton Counties until 3:30 p.m. after radar detected a line of severe thunderstorms extending from near Bennetts Point to near Lady's Island. Wind gusts of up to 70 mph were detected in those storms.
If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
