GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - A judge denied bond for a 55-year-old Goose Creek woman charged in the shooting death of her 85-year-old husband.
Cheryl Williams is charged with murder in connection with a shooting reported Thursday night at approximately 9:40 p.m.
The initial report, police say, was that the man had shot himself, however officers say when they arrived at a home in the 300-block of Annette Drive in the Boulder Bluff subdivision, officers heard what sounded like a gunshot from inside the home.
Shortly after that, Cheryl Williams came out of the porch and was taken to an adjacent home for safety, according to Goose Creek Police Capt. John Grainger. Police entered the home and found her husband with a gunshot wound to the chest, Grainger said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Williams was charged with murder following a subsequent investigation, Grainger said. She was transported to Trident Medical Center for a medical evaluation and then transported to Berkeley County Detention Center where she remains following Friday's bond hearing.
