CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The cast of the Bravo TV series Southern Charm raised $17,500 in honor of the Emanuel 9 shooting victims Sunday night.

The three-course dinner at Sermet's on King Street was accompanied by live entertainment from Charlton Singleton and the Joe Clark Band. A number of items were also available for auction. There were two seatings, one at 6 p.m. and the other at 9 p.m.

"We all swung into action like Charleston does whenever there's a tragedy," cast member Jennifer Snowden said. "We react like the Red Cross...and here we are."

"The cast could not be more proud of the support that the city offered last night and are excited to be able to assist in this very worthy cause," the event organizer, Sterling Event Productions, said in a statement.

The TV series premiered in March 2014, depicting the lives of seven individuals who reside in Charleston. Southern culture and history feature prominently as part of the show.

All of the proceeds of the event will go to the proceeds of the families of the victims of the June 17 shooting in which nine people were killed inside the Mother Emanuel AME Church.
