ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Orangeburg investigators say a home was shot multiple times after someone knocked on the door and asked the homeowner if he could use his phone.

On Saturday at 10:45 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting at a home on Pickle Road in Salters.

According to the sheriff's office, an unknown male subject knocked on the victim's door and asked to use his phone.

Authorities say when the victim told the subject that he did not have a working phone, the suspect fired shots.

The homeowner was not injured during the incident.

The Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to call (843) 355-6381.

Deputies are continuing the investigation.
