ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said his office is continuing to investigate the shooting deaths of four people in Holly Hill.
"Are we closer? Yes. Do we have all the answers? Not at this early stage in the investigation," Ravenell said."But we are getting a more clear picture of what happened.
The sheriff's office released a statement on Monday stating that there had been no development in their investigation into the July 15 shooting death of Jerome Butler, 50, Krystal Hutto, 28, Shamekia Sanders, 17, and Tamara-Alexia Perry, 14.
An 8-year-old who was hurt during the shooting remains in critical condition after suffering a gunshot wound.
"We've been working this case around the clock since it happened," Ravenell said on Monday. "We have also recovered a very large amount of evidence our crime scene investigators have been sorting through."
The sheriff said detectives have questioned numerous individuals, and are asking anyone who may have information to call the sheriff's office or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
"The OCSO asks the community embrace the families of those victims in this case and remember them in their time of need," read a statement by the sheriff's office on Monday.
Last week, a spokesperson with the sheriff's office said Sanders and Perry are the daughters of Christopher Wright, 36, of Holly Hill, who was arrested on two outstanding drug warrants from SLED.
Those charges are unrelated to Wednesday's homicide.
