CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is investigating after vehicles were vandalized at a church in Awendaw on Thursday.

According to investigators, the incident happened at the Mt. Nebo Church on 5600 N. Highway 17.

Investigators say three vehicles were damaged, and personal items had been stolen.

Emergency officials say they received the call about the incident at 6:46 p.m.

A woman said she had been attending bible school at the church, and when they came out, they discovered the vehicles had been vandalized.

The woman reported that she noticed an older model grey SUV leaving the parking lot "in a hurry." According to a report, she stated that the SUV had a black bumper and black running boards.

The woman did not see the driver or occupants of the SUV, authorities say.
