Park Circle Films calls it quits in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Park Circle Film Society is closing up after nearly seven years of bringing independent film to the Lowcountry. A statement on the society website says it will hold a free farewell event August 1 at 7:00 p.m. Since 2008, Park Circle Films has held over 370 events in Park Circle and around the Lowcountry. The farewell event will be held at the Olde Village Community Building at 4820 Jenkins Avenue in North Charleston.

PCF says it will partner with Charleston Music Hall for two final film screenings, My Prairie Home on July 28 and I am Big Bird on August 5, 2015.

Operations manager, Sarah Long released a statement on social media:

"Our unique communal approach and emphasis on creating strong relationships with patrons and volunteers allowed us to set PCF apart in the Charleston arts community."
