BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County's former school superintendent has applied for the same position in Berkeley County.
Berkeley County School District Board Chairman Jim Hayes confirmed last Tuesday afternoon Dr. Nancy McGinley applied for the open position.
McGinley said she is interested in an interim position that would allow her to determine whether she and the district are a good fit, and said she would then be willing to talk about a long-term position.
McGinley was the Charleston County School District's longest serving superintendent, filling the role for seven years after being appointed from her job as Chief Academic Officer. She resigned as superintendent in October.
A list of finalists for the position has not yet been released.
This is a developing story.
