Mt. Pleasant Police rescue injured deer

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Three Mount Pleasant Police officers rescued a deer that appeared to be suffering from a broken leg.

The officers responded to Rifle Range Road Sunday to a report of an injured deer along the roadway, according to Mount Pleasant Police Inspector Chip Googe.

Police were able to cut the animal free of briars, wrap it in a blanket and transport it to Veterinary Specialty Care on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard, Googe said. Police also released dash cam video of the rescue.

The deer has since been released from that facility and transferred to a wildlife rehabilitation facility.
