CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

An intersection is open again in a Charleston neighborhood after the sheriff's office's bomb unit investigated a suspicious package outside a home.

The intersection of Dogwood Road and Green Park Avenue had been blocked off after a homeowner called authorities to report a black leather bag near his mailbox at approximately 10 a.m., according to Charleston County Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson.

Deputies responded and called in the bomb unit to investigate further, Watson said.

The black bag was found to be a medical bag that contained medical equipment, he said.

It is not clear how the bag got there.
