MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (AP/WCSC) - Mount Pleasant Police say the standoff near the Charleston National Golf Club Sunday off of Highway 17 North in Mount Pleasant has ended peacefully.
A representative for the department made the announcement on Twitter at 7:35 p.m.
They were called to the scene at 11:57 a.m. Police say what started out as a welfare check turned into a situation where a person was barricaded inside their home.
Police said earlier that they believed the suspect was armed.
At 4 p.m., a mobile crisis unit was on scene speaking with the subject.
At 7 p.m., a Charleston Police Department explosive device truck arrived on scene.
