NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A family of five has been displaced after a fire in North Charleston.
Officials with the North Charleston Fire Department say the fire happened in the 2600 block of Woodland Ave. just before noon on Wednesday.
"Five residents of the single story home escaped unharmed," NCFD officials say. "First arriving firefighters reported heavy smoke from the right side of the home. They quickly extinguished the fire."
Authorities say the cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no reported injuries.
The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
