CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Attorney General has confirmed the arrest of a Charleston man on child pornography charges.
Thomas Elliot Aspinwall has been charged with one count involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, made the arrest, authorities say.
According to investigators, Aspinwall received explicit photos of a minor engaged in sexual activity.
After a search warrant was obtained for Aspinwall's cell phone, he was arrested on Wednesday and charged.
The felony is an offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
