COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Bond was denied for a 34-year-old man accused of shooting a former co-worker in the neck at a home in Colleton County.

The Colleton County Sheriff's Office charged Phillip Andrew Herndon of Walterboro with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and kidnapping.

Herndon is currently locked up at the Colleton County Detention Center.

On Saturday evening, a deputy responded to a home on Adnah Church Road for a report of a 37-year-old woman being shot.

The victim's grandmother told the responding deputy that her granddaughter had been shot and was lying on the couch inside the residence.

When the deputy went inside the home he saw the victim sitting on the couch with a towel over her neck and shoulder.

Authorities observed a bullet wound on the victim's neck.

The victim said the suspect, Herndon, was a former co-worker of hers.

The grandmother said she was sitting in her living room at the time of the incident when the victim came inside from the back and told her that she had been shot.

Detectives found several shell casings on the floorboard of a truck that was parked in the yard.

The victim has since been released from the hospital.
