GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) -

Berkeley County deputies arrested a Goose Creek man who was wanted by Alaska authorities on charges of child pornography.

Gene Michael Geisler, 38, is wanted by Alaska State Troopers and is charged with 58 counts of possessing and distributing child pornography, according to Berkeley County Sheriff's spokesman Michael Mulé.

An Anchorage grand jury indicted Geisler on a total of 76 counts of possessing and distributing child pornography, Mulé said in a statement. Authorities cited a report from KYUK in Bethel, Alaska stating Geisler is accused of possessing two million images and 13,000 videos, amounting to 29 terabytes of child pornography.

"I am glad that our deputies were able to arrest this wanted fugitive," Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis said. "I have no tolerance for people preying on our community's most vulnerable."

Alaska State Troopers have requested Geisler’s extradition to Alaska.
