Police looking for suspect after armed robbery at a Circle K in Mt. Pleasant

Mt. Pleasant police are looking for a suspect after an armed robbery at the Circle K at 685 Johnnie Dodds Blvd Monday.

Police say approximately $152 in cash and a pack of cigarettes estimated to cost $5.50 were taken from the shop.

They say they were called to the gas station at 2:25 a.m. after a man walked in and demanded all the money from the store's cash registers. The cashier said the suspect had an item that appeared to be a gun inside of a dark draw-string back wrapped around his hand.

The cashier said there was a little over $50 in drawer, and approximately $65 in the other drawer.

He described the suspect as a black male in his early to mid 20s, wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and dark pants. According to him, the subject was 5'6" or 5'7" with an average build.

A report said the suspect had his face covered with a T-shirt that only allowed him to see his eyes. He was also wearing gloves.

The suspect fled the scene, and no one was injured in the incident.

Detectives have reviewed surveillance video at the gas station, and are investigating.
