CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a gas line fire in West Ashley was possibly caused by a lightning strike.
Officials with the Charleston Fire Department say crews responded to Lango Avenue off of Ashley River Road for an outside fire Friday afternoon.
When crews arrived they determined that a gas line had been possibly struck by lightning and was on fire next to a brick structure.
"The gas was turned off and the fire subsided," CFD officials say.
According to CFD authorities, there was no damage to the interior of the house.
