AWENDAW, SC (WCSC) - The victim in a single-car accident in Awendaw Sunday afternoon has been identified.
Rex Porter, 30, of Huger, died on the scene from injuries he suffered in the crash, according to Charleston County Dep. Coroner Kimberly Rhoton.
Officials said a white Toyota Tundra was driving down Halfway Creek Road just after 5 p.m. when the car left the road and hit a tree. Porter was the only person inside the car at the time of the accident, deputies say.
The incident is still under investigation by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office Traffic Division and the Charleston County Coroner's office.
