CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The latest poll of South Carolina Republican voters shows Donald Trump increasing the lead he's already showing in national surveys.
The Monmouth University Poll says 30% of likely Republican primary voters support Trump. The GOP front-runner doubled the support of his closest competitor, Dr. Ben Carson. The poll results show Republican-leaning voters in the Palmetto State are looking for a president who doesn't represent the status quo of Washington politics.
Trump led the way with 30% support, followed by Dr. Ben Carson at 15%. Jeb Bush (9%), Marco Rubio (6%), Carly Fiorina (6%), Ted Cruz (5%), Scott Walker (4%) and South Carolina's U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (4%) all failed to reach double-digits.
John Kasich, Mike Huckabee, and Rand Paul each got 3% of the vote. The poll results also show 11% of voters haven't made up their minds yet.
