CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Main branch of the Charleston County Public Library will hold a book sale from August 29 to August 31.
The sale will take place during the following times:
- Saturday, August 29 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday, August 30 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Monday, August 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is free, and special pricing opportunities will be available on Monday.
The event had been rescheduled from June 17 out of respect for Cynthia Hurd, a Charleston County Public librarian, who was killed in the shooting at Mother Emanuel AME Church.
Cynthia Hurd had served for 31 years, and the Charleston Library aims to continue the legacy she left behind.
Money raised through book sales will help fund Library services, equipment, training, materials, and public programming.
Books, DVDs, and CDs will be available with prices starting at $1 for paperbacks and $3 for hardcover books. Children's books start at $0.50.
Genres include mysteries, romances, classics, children's books, local histories, cookbooks, and a variety of non-fiction subjects.
The Main Library is located at 68 Calhoun Street in Charleston.
