CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A 20-year-old man has surrendered to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office in connection to a shooting at a gas station that took the life of a 24-year-old man in Ravenel.

According to authorities, at 12 p.m. on Friday, Kyree Devon Waters turned himself over to investigators for his involvement in the shooting death of Richard Butler of Hollywood.

Deputies arrived on scene and found several shell casings in the parking lot.

According to investigators, the people responsible for the shooting had already left before deputies arrived on the scene.

"A short while later, a victim with gunshot wounds arrived at St. Francis Hospital," sheriff's office officials say."Subsequently, the victim was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, where the victim later died."

Investigators say deputies were able to determine the victim was shot at the gas station.
