NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) -

The victim in a shooting on Gumwood Boulevard in North Charleston Saturday has been identified by the Charleston County Coroner as Jean James Jaques, 28.

Police say Isaac Deas of West Ashley turned himself in to police on the day of the incident and was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Bond for his second charge was set at $125,000. No bond was set for his murder charge.

Officers say they responded to reports of gun fire and someone being shot on the 2000 block of Gumwood Boulevard around noon Saturday.

Police say they found the victim lying next to the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest. He was taken to MUSC where he later died.

According to witnesses, Jaques was inside a van when he was shot. Witnesses say Deas approached the driver's side of the van and an altercation ensued.

Deas reportedly fired into the van striking the Jaques.

Two guns were found inside Deas' home after police acquired a search warrant, officials say.
