CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Ravenel man accused of kidnapping a woman and raping two children was denied bond.
Gussie Hilton Jr. is charged with three counts of kidnapping and two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
On Monday during a court hearing, the judge denied bond on all charges and ordered Hilton to have no contact with the victims.
Hilton is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Following the hearing, Sheriff Al Cannon gave a press briefing on the incident which happened this past weekend.
Cannon said one of the victims, a 6-year-old, Hilton sexually assaulted suffered "significant injuries."
Cannon called the incident "a very traumatic situation all around," and said, "We're glad we have [Hilton] and that he's in custody."
According to Cannon, Hilton has a long rap sheet, but "nothing to this level."
Authorities say the incident happened just after 2 p.m. on Sunday on the 5500 block of Ellington School Road.
Deputies say Hilton was asked to take a mother and her 13 year old daughter to Walmart; Cannon said it was not uncommon for Hilton to give both of them rides.
Instead of taking the victims to Walmart, authorities say the suspect made a detour to Ellington School Road, where he threatened both victims with a knife and forced the 13-year-old into the woods and sexually assaulted her.
Officials say the mother was able to run to a nearby house and call police.
According to investigators, deputies arrived on the scene and were able to locate Hilton and the 13-year-old victim in the woods.
Investigators reported that Hilton also told deputies that a 6-year-old was back at his house on Martin Street, where he was also sexually assaulted her that day.
All the victims were taken to MUSC for treatment.
