NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department is on the lookout for two men wanted for an attempted armed robbery.
The incident happened Tuesday night on Lancaster Street where officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area.
The victims said they were working on a vehicle in front of a home when they were approached by two young men armed with a handgun and a revolver.
Police say the suspects entered the yard and told the victims to give them money as they aimed their guns at the victims.
The victims said they thought it was a joke and began to laugh.
According to police, one of the suspects then put a gun to one of the victim's head, then went towards the victim's vehicle as if to go through it.
Authorities say when another victim, who was heading towards his home, said he was going to call police, the victims heard one of the suspects chamber a round. That suspect then fired two shots at the victim who was heading home.
Police say as the victims began to scatter, the suspects ran toward Wando Road. CPD officials reported that one of the suspects fired multiple rounds back at the home while running.
The victims believed they heard six gunshots in all.
Investigators describe the suspects as two young black males who wore t-shirts, one white and the other black, around their faces, and wore black pants or shorts.
One is described as being taller and armed with a semi-automatic handgun, while the other is described as possibly younger, armed with a revolver.
