Local football fans came out to watch the Clash of the Carolinas

WEST ASHLEY SC (WCSC) -

Gamecock Carolina fans gained the bragging rights tonight after their team came out on top in the Clash of the Carolinas - they beat the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Many fans came out to The Roost Bar n' Grille in West Ashley. There was a sea of garnet as most fans were there to root on the Gamecocks. There was also some Tar Heel and Clemson fans in in the crowd.

The Roost is the go-to-place for many Gamecock fans in this area to watch games throughout the season...and tonight that was no different.

It was a packed house, with barely enough standing room, but everyone was having a good time.

There was some banter going on between the different Carolina fans, but it was all in good fun.

"Everybody is running a mile a minute, so many people having a great time. It's awesome to see everybody come out for a great day," says The Roost manager, Brian Grove.

Thursday night was just the start for The Roost that's gearing up for future games.

"Gamecock football, every weekend every game, we're here to take care of everybody," says Grove.
