ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

A second suspect wanted in an Orangeburg County murder has been located in Washington D.C.

Jeremy Houser of Temple Hills, Md. was taken into custody on Wednesday wanted for the fatal shooting of 56-year-old Anthony Patterson.

“Mr. Houser had been developed as a suspect in the August 26 shooting at a Gretta Lane residence,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. “Along with his brother, Houser went into this residence and fatally shot the victim.”

Darrin Houser, Jeremy's brother, was also located in Washington, D.C. and taken into custody two days after the shooting. He also faces a charge of murder.

According to the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office, the brothers were charged after witnesses said Darrin Houser tricked them into allowing him in their Gretta Lane residence around midnight on the night of the incident.

The witnesses reported that once the men were inside, gunfire rang out with at least one shot striking Patterson. Patterson was declared dead at the scene.

Ravenell said the motive for the shooting was robbery.

"Plans are underway to have Jeremy Houser extradited back to South Carolina," OCSO officials said.
