JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

Charleston County Deputies say a church was vandalized by gunfire Sunday morning.

Payne Church, on the 1500 block of Camp Rd. in James Island, is about three miles away from two other churches found with bullet holes back in July.

Officials say a bullet hole was found in the door of the church just before service began that morning.

At this time, it's not clear when the shooting happened.

No word on whether deputies have a suspect.
