CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A convenience store in downtown Charleston was robbed Wednesday night.

Charleston police say two male subjects robbed the Two Brothers store on 131 Wentworth Street at 8:42 p.m. Police say one of the suspects was armed with a gun.

The store owner told officers he was sitting toward the back of the store when a man went in and asked the price for a pack of cigarettes.

The victim said when he started to walk toward the man when another suspect, this one holding a black, semi-automatic pistol, came in from another direction and demanded money. The second suspect was wearing a cloth over his face, only making his eyes visible.

The store owner says both suspects started screaming at him, demanding money. He told officers he managed to leave the store through a side entrance and yell for assistance. A neighbor heard his call for help and called Charleston Police.

According to a report, the store's surveillance cameras were not working, and nothing was recorded.

No arrests have been made yet. Police are continuing the investigation.
