DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A man has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of a woman at a Harleyville nightclub last week.

A representative for the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says Alexander Green was arrested on Monday and charged with murder.

Witnesses told investigators a fight or argument broke out inside Club Exclusive around 3 a.m. last Sunday. The father of the woman says she was an innocent bystander who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Shots were fired, Keishae Ross tried to run, but she was struck in the back by a bullet and died at the scene.

"Too young, enjoyed life, loved people, it's heartbreaking," Ross' father Timothy Scott said.

"Just happened to be socializing with her brother and sister, not knowing that was gonna be the last time she'd spend any time with them at all," Scott said.

Keishae leaves behind her seven year old daughter and other grieving family members.

"It's very difficult, mom and dad raised her all her life and they're dealing with a lot, plus my sister was involved, so it's really difficult," Scott said.

Green has a short criminal history with a 2009 misdemeanor charge for assault with intent to kill.

He also has convictions for shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia and public disorderly conduct.

The representative says the suspect was arrested by the SLED Fugitive Unit. A bond hearing is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
