CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have arrested two men suspected in a shooting on Johns Island that left one man with multiple wounds.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office charged 18-year-old Juwan Brown of Charleston and 25-year-old Akeem Simmons of James Island with attempted murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.
On Tuesday at 4:45 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting at 3290 Joe Wright Road in the unincorporated area of Charleston County.
According to the sheriff's office, the victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was airlifted to MUSC for treatment. A responding deputy reported that he found the victim lying on the yard with multiple visible injuries and blood on his face.
The investigation revealed that Brown and Simmons went to the victim's home to talk to the victim.
"While there, both suspects pulled handguns, tied the victim's hands and demanded money," CCSO officials said."One of the suspects then began to hit the victim with the handgun before shooting him multiple times and then leaving the scene."
Both of the suspects were locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center and will have a bond hearing at 2 p.m.
Fire and EMS crews also responded to the scene of the shooting.
