Officials with the Charleston County Coroner's Office say they have identified the victim of a homicide in West Ashley.

Authorities say 69-year-old Barbara Little died from blunt force trauma.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a home just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday on West Palmer Drive to investigate a deceased person.

Investigators say family members became concerned when they were unable to reach the victim.

Little's brother said he came over to his sister's house to check on her, and when he got to the home, he reported finding the front door unlocked. He then noticed blood in the inside of the home and located Little on the bathroom floor with no pants on and blood around her body and head.

Responding deputies reported seeing a large amount of blood around the victim’s body.

Investigators are working with the coroner’s office and following up on several leads.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111 or the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center at 843-743-7200.
