CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Several events are being canceled or postponed ahead of a significant flood threat anticipated over the next few days.
We are updating the list of closings and cancellations as we gather new information. Please be sure to check back often for the latest changes.
For church services, please check with your church's website and social media accounts to make sure last-minute decisions to cancel services have not happened since our most recent list was published.
Dorchester District 4 will operate on a one-hour delayed schedule Monday.
Orangeburg School District Three will be closed for students on Monday. It will be a professional development day for teachers, and teachers should report to work by 8:30 a.m. on Monday. District Office staff should report to work their normal time on Monday.
Williamsburg County School District is closed Monday and Tuesday. School district offices will operate on the inclement weather schedule.
SAT tests scheduled for Saturday at all CCSD sites, Northwood Academy, Summerville High School, and Charleston Southern University have been canceled.
Students testing at West Ashley High School, Wando High School, Northwood Academy, Summerville High School, and Charleston Southern University will now take the test on Oct. 17. New testing dates for other schools have not yet been announced.
Norfolk Southern shut down all rail service for the week between Charleston and Greer because of track safety issues.
The Waccamaw High School Homecoming Parade has been postponed, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.
It will now take place Monday. Kings River Road from Elkader Drive to Blue Stem Drive will be closed from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The parade is expected to begin at All Saints Church at 4:30 p.m. and travel south to the Waccamaw High School parking lot. This route will include the intersection of Waverly Road and Kings River Road and all communities along the parade route on Kings River Road.
The Isle of Palms Connector Race has been canceled.
Packets will be available for pick up at East Cooper Medical Center, located at 2000 Hospital Dr. in Mount Pleasant, SC 29464, on Friday, October 2, from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Participants who registered and paid for the 2015 race will receive 20% off 2016 race, if registered during early bird registration.
Kolter at The Ponds' grand opening event scheduled for Saturday has been postponed. No new date has been set.
Charleston's Greek Festival has been postponed to Oct. 16 though Oct. 18.
Charleston County Parks - Next Brewsday is set for Oct. 20.
The Fall Festival scheduled for Johns and Wadmalaw Island schools has been postponed to Oct. 24.
Thanks Joe! Event in honor of Mayor Riley has been rescheduled for Oct. 25.
The Down Syndrome Buddy Walk will be rescheduled later in October.
Metro North Market and Craft Fair in Goose Creek rescheduled to Nov. 7.
St. John's High School homecoming parade cancelled. Main Road open to traffic.
