People in the Lowcountry are bracing themselves for the weekend washout. Many people went to grocery stores to stock up on the essentials as they plan to stay inside for the weekend.
"Oh man I know it's going to be a mess....it's going to be a mess," says a shopper at Harris Teeter.
It's a wet mess that people are trying to prepare for.
One woman from New York says she is being extra cautious because of her experience with hurricane Sandy.
Many events for the weekend have been cancelled due to increased rainfall coming Friday night through Sunday.
"We were going to go to that Hogs for Charleston BBQ competition for pediatric brain cancer, so that kind of stinks that they cancelled that," says Erin Brasch.
"We were actually going to do the Cystic Fibrosis Ride tomorrow morning," says Polly Graham.
The Lowcountry's flash flood watch continues through Sunday with a potential for 8 to 12 inches of rain.
"Lord if it gets flooded this much...I'm going to have to boat through it," says a shopper.
One couple says their daughter is getting married next weekend in Charleston. They are hoping for better conditions.
"A lot of family coming in, we just got a text that they were still planning on driving through the mountains coming down here tomorrow," says Dan Graham.
Though many are experiencing a change in plans they're finding new ways to spend their weekend.
