CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A flood warning for Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties remains in effect until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Areas affected by the warning include North Charleston, Cane Bay, Summerville, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Moncks Corner, Huger and McClellanville.
Emergency crews reported that high water levels continued across the affected areas with many roads and homes still experiencing flooding and numerous roads washed out, according to the National Weather Service.
Officials say water levels are expected to recede slowly across many flooded areas.
"The exception will be areas along the Edisto and Santee rivers where rising river levels create worsening flood conditions," NWS officials say."River flood warnings remain in effect along these rivers."
