CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Gaillard Center is ready and a dedication ceremony is set for Friday at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Joe Riley and other city officials are expected to attend.
An open house will take place right after the dedication ceremony until 7:30 p.m.
It took more than three years and 142 million dollars to complete the project, making it the most expensive municipal project in Charleston history.
The city's goal was to have the renovations on George Street completed back in April for the Spoleto Festival, but it was just wasn't ready in time.
The Gaillard Center includes offices, a renovated exhibition hall, and a performance hall.
The first public performance at the hall will be Sunday, Oct. 18.
