Flood warning issued for Charleston, Dorchester counties until Saturday afternoon
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Charleston and Dorchester counties until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Areas affected include Summerville, St. George, Slands Bridge, Givhans Ferry State Park, Dorchester, Hollywood and Ravenel.
Emergency management officials are continuing to report flooding especially near the Ashley and Edisto rivers, and creeks and streams that feed into them.
According to the NWS, water levels are expected to continue to slowly fall through Saturday.
"Although some additional rainfall of one half to one inch is possible on Saturday, these amounts are not expected to have any significant impact over areas currently flooded and is not expected to cause any additional significant flooding," NWS officials said.
