ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina State University advised its students, faculty and staff to be "cautious and alert" of their surroundings Wednesday after the university received an anonymous threat.
A caller issued a threat to conduct violent acts against the S.C. State University community, according to SCSU spokesperson Elizabeth Mosely-Hawkins.
University police and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the credibility of the threat and the identity of the caller, Hawkins said.
Hawkins said there is no imminent threat to the campus and the school has not been placed under lockdown.
