State parks launch 'Ultimate Outsider' campaign

SOUTH CAROLINA (WCSC) - South Carolina state parks are encouraging people to get up and get moving to visit all 47 state parks through their new "Ultimate Outsider" campaign.

Overstuffed backpacks are the captivating centerpiece of the new "Ultimate Outsider" campaign launched this week. The new ads will appear in television spots, on billboards, and social media posts this fall inviting people to become Ultimate Outsiders by visiting all 47 state parks.

The backpacks are filled with the type of gear used in the great outdoors including kayaks, beach umbrellas, golf clubs, fishing rod and reel, tents and compasses.

The campaign also will be featured at the South Carolina State Fair in Columbia in mid-October. Fair-goers can visit the State Park Service's photo booth in the Goodman Building at the fairgrounds and take their own "Ultimate Outsider" photo.  They can share the photo on social media using the hashtags #SCStateParks and #UltimateOutsider.

The booth will also include information on state parks, giveaways, as well as limited park retail including the official South Carolina State Park guide and park passports that are valid 14 months instead of the usual 12 months.
