WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Williamsburg County emergency management officials say residents with private wells should boil their water before using it because of possible contamination.
Water from a private well should be boiled for at least one minute before use it.
Residents should first decontaminate their wells then take a sample of the water for DHEC testing, according to Williamsburg County Emergency Management spokesman Jeff Singleton.
Water sampling kits can only be picked up from and returned to the Department of Health at 520 Thurgood Marshall Highway in Kingstree from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, officials say.
