SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) -

Officials say the father of a missing baby is being extradited from South Carolina to Florida to face a child neglect charge.

Sarasota County sheriff's office spokeswoman Kaitlyn Johnston told The Herald-Tribune on Tuesday morning that 36-year-old Joseph Walsh is being transported from the Jasper County Detention Center to the Sarasota jail.

Officials say they believe they found the body of little Chance Walsh after receiving a tip last week. The child was born in July, and his grandparents told officials they'd last seen him in September.

Johnston told the newspaper that Walsh should have a first-appearance hearing Wednesday. His bond is $150,000.

The child's 32-year-old mother, Kristen Bury, was extradited from South Carolina last week. She faces charges of first-degree murder and child neglect.

It's unclear whether they've retained attorneys to contact for comment on their case.
