SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened a Disaster Recovery Center at Seacoast Church located at 301 E. 5th N. Street in Summerville.

Officials with the Dorchester County Emergency Management Department say the DRC provides disaster survivors a location to apply for federal disaster assistance and also provides referral services for other disaster recovery needs not provided by the federal government.

The DRC is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Individuals/families and businesses can still apply directly through FEMA by calling (800) 621-FEMA or visiting www.disasterassistance.gov.

Dorchester County EMD is open Monday through Friday from 8:30AM - 5:00PM, to answer questions about the community recovery process at (843) 832-0341.
