SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Summerville's Frances R. Willis SPCA is teaming up with the Charleston Animal Society for a massive adoption event this weekend.
SPCA officials say they and the CAS have received a huge influx of animals, largely due to homes being damaged or destroyed due to the floods.
"Both shelters are now in a CRISIS SITUATION and need to find loving homes for hundreds of animals NOW," SPCA officials said."Please help by making room for one more in your home so that there will be room for more homeless animals as they continue to come into the shelters."
The SPCA released the following information on the event:
This weekend, the FRW SPCA will be hosting its second adoption event since the shelter facility was destroyed by the flooding earlier this month.
The adoption event will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 24-25 from 10am to 5pm in the front parking lot of the FRW SPCA located at 136 Four Paws Lane, Summerville, SC.
There will be kittens, cats, puppies and dogs all available for adoption. All cats and kittens will have a reduced adoption fee of $25 and all dogs and puppies will also have a reduced adoption fee! Each animal has already been spayed/neutered, is up to date on vaccinations and shots, has been microchipped, and has received heartworm, flea and tick prevention.
Additional vouchers and coupons are also included with each adoption.
The FRW SPCA was destroyed in the floods earlier this month and needs YOUR help. We are currently operating on a very limited basis and are receiving more animals than we can accommodate. If you cannot adopt right now, please help by fostering an animal while we rebuild the shelter.
Every animal placed in a foster home saves another life, as it opens up space for the shelter to take in one more animal. Please visit www.summervillespca.org for more information on adopting and fostering.
