CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Catherine Templeton has left her new position with the State Ports Authority.
Templeton, a former DHEC director, was the Senior Vice President of Legal, External Affairs and Human Resources at the SPA.
"I am grateful that Catherine had the willingness to join our organization and give us the benefit of her expertise in her brief time with us. She is an extremely talented and energetic executive who has a lot to offer any firm," said Jim Newsome, President and CEO of the SC Ports Authority.
SPA officials say Templeton determined the "position does not meet her career goals."
Templeton, who was one of the first cabinet members appointed by Gov. Nikki Haley in 2010 as the Secretary of Labor, came to state government after 20 years in manufacturing.
