Investigators have charged a Charleston County man with killing his wife.
David Greene has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime for the shooting death of 68-year-old Shirley Greene.
He was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
At 9 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a home on Oak Willie Road in Hollywood to investigate a domestic shooting.
Deputies arrived at the residence and reported locating a male subject with a gun sitting on the front porch.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies detained the subject and located the subject’s wife inside with a gunshot wound. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The sheriff's office said an investigation revealed that Greene and his wife were in an argument before the suspect shot his wife with a shotgun.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
