CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston residents have the chance to thank Mayor Joe Riley for 40 years of leadership at the "Thanks, Joe!" event this afternoon.
Charlestonians can enjoy some free family fun at Brittlebank Park starting at 3 p.m.
Activities will include the chance to take a selfie with the Mayor, sign 'The Book of Joe,' enjoy entertainment on multiple stages, feast at a food truck festival, or take in the view from a ferris wheel.
The celebration continues at Joe Riley Park with live music and fireworks.
Performers will include Edwin McCain, the Mother Emanuel AME Gospel Choir, Seth G, and more.
Admission is five dollars for the event at Joe Riley Park. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the music kicks off at 7 p.m.
