Woman arrested after child calls 911, reports assault

ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - Orangeburg deputies arrested a 22-year-old woman after a child called 911 saying she had been assaulted.

Dynasty Bonepart was charged with unlawful neglect of a child Saturday after deputies saw the woman strike the child, according to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.

Deputies say the call came in around 10 a.m. Saturday when the girl called 911 saying the woman had punched her in the face during an incident on Friday, and told dispatchers she believed she was going to be struck again on Saturday.

When deputies arrived they informed the woman they were sent to the North Trail Road residence after a child had reported an assault. The woman then became angry and struck the child, according to the incident report.

"Our officers were investigating this child's claims when the woman hits her in the chest in front of the officers," Ravenell said. "The officers immediately charged this woman and brought DSS in to remove the child from the home."

The child was temporarily placed with a relative, deputies say.

Bonepart was given a $5,000 personal recognizance bond during a hearing Sunday. If convicted, Bonepart faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
