Authorities arrest Summerville man on child pornography charges

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have arrested a Summerville man accused of downloading child pornography.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Eric Kevin Moore II on ten charges connected to sexual exploitation of minors.

Investigators state that Moore was involved in downloading child pornography via file sharing.

Moore was arrested on Oct. 23. and is charged with ten counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, a member of the state's ICAC Task Force, made the arrest. The Hanahan Police Department assisted with the investigation.

Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
