CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Council approved on Tuesday a simplified version of tax incentives for Sea Pac, a new plastic distributor in the Lowcountry.
Sea Pac announced earlier this month it's investing 32 million dollars for a new facility off US Highway 78 in Ladson.
The project would be designated as "economic development property," meaning it can pay a fee instead of having to pay taxes.
Sea Pac says it will help Charleston County by bringing around 50 jobs to local residents to start and 200 more over the next five years.
The company will transport, store and package plastic resins used to make things like water bottles, milk jugs and vitamin bottles.
